Challenge

Aveda, a powerful global brand and one of the most progressive and successful business models in the industry, asked Ultra 16 to create an online resource for the professionals and employees that make up the Aveda Network.

Aveda wanted the Professional Connections website to be a place for professionals to connect, learn more, and grow their skills and businesses. The website should educate about the salon/spa business including operations, business development and product retailing, provide inspiration, and communicate the brand promise, goals, and vision.

Aveda Professional Connections is about creativity, sharing, mentoring, and revolutionary products. Great people helping great people. Growing and evolving with Aveda throughout a professional career. Ultra 16 created a website portal that focuses on these key themes.

The website allows professionals to share cutting/styling techniques through online tutorials and inspire each other to new levels of creativity and craft. The site also facilitates professional growth through previewing new styles, providing product training, marketing help and advice, links to Aveda Institutes, new initiatives, and a brand library. Visual design carries thematic elements from a variety of collateral and overall brand identity and is visually focused to appeal to creative and artistic users.

In addition to Aveda Professional Connections, Ultra 16 was engaged to work on the Aveda Institute website - for aspiring Aveda stylists, spa therapists, and artists.
